Leadership Transition: Appointment of New CEO

After a remarkable 25-year tenure, Morten Sollerud will step down as CEO of Norilia, marking a significant transition for one of the most prominent entities in the Nordic agriculture and meat sector.

One of Sollerud’s key contributions has been the rebranding of by-products as "plus products". Sollerud’s contribution has ensured that plus products are recognized as sustainable and valuable resources.

"I am proud to have played a part in Norilia’s position as an innovative and sustainable contributor in the meat industry," says Morten Sollerud.

New CEO: Roar Furuhaug

Norilia’s board is pleased to announce that Roar Furuhaug has been appointed as the new CEO.

"Roar brings expertise in business development, strategic leadership, and efficient operations — skills that will be crucial for Norilia’s future growth," says Chairman, Petter Brinchmann.

Extensive experience in the food industry

Academically, Furuhaug holds a master’s degree in food science from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), highlighting his technical expertise.

Furuhaug arrives with a wealth of experience from his role as CEO of Arne B. Corneliussen AS, where he successfully orchestrated growth initiatives and solidified market positions.

“His diverse executive roles within the Norwegian food sector demonstrate his proficiency in managing complex operational frameworks,” Sollerud says.

Building on a strong foundation

The board has emphasized that Furuhaug's ability to handle challenging markets will be important for Norilia, as the company aims to strengthen its position and further develop its operations.

This strategic appointment is intended to fortify Norilia's growth trajectory while amplifying its commitment to sustainability and value creation in Nordic agriculture.

“Norilia stands at a critical juncture with a substantial mission on the horizon. I anticipate building upon the solid foundation established by my predecessor. My focus will be on identifying and developing sustainable value streams from plus products, fostering collaboration with our talented workforce, customers, and strategic partners," Furuhaug asserts.

Roar Furuhaug will officially take the reins on May 1, 2025. Sollerud will transition to a senior advisory role, reducing his capacity prior to full retirement in 2026
